Tension in Noles as five-star quarterback flipped to…..
|Would the Noles be harmed if five-star quarterback Dylan Raiola flipped?
As Early Signing Day approaches on December 20, FSU football coaches attempt to put the finishing touches on their 2024 prep recruiting class.
For well over a year, the Noles have had a commitment from four-star quarterback Luke Kromenhoek, who has been one of the most prominent leaders in the 2024 recruiting class.
However, Recruiting Analyst Steve Wiltfong sent shockwaves through the recruiting industry Monday afternoon when he predicted that five-star QB Georgia commit Dylan Raiola will transfer to Nebraska. Raiola is ranked sixth in the country and first among quarterbacks.
Raiola was a high school classmate of FSU five-star safety commit KJ Bolden, but I noticed several FSU supporters talking about the repercussions of a hypothetical Raiola flip. After all, Luke Kromenhoek is from Georgia and is ranked as the No. 53 player in the country and the No. 5 quarterback.
Raiola plans to visit Nebraska on the weekend before the Early Signing Period. That is most likely an indication that the flip will occur. However, even if he does switch, I don’t believe it will have any impact on FSU or Luke Kromenhoek.
Georgia has another lower-ranked four-star quarterback committed in the 2024 class, and Kromenhoek has a terrific relationship with the coaching staff and plans to be around the team during Orange Bowl preparations before enrolling in the spring.
I’m aware that FSU and Georgia have competed for multiple recruits this recruiting cycle, with FSU coming out on top. KJ Bolden, Landon Thomas, and Kameron Davis all spring to mind as Georgia natives. The recruiting industry is insane, and anything may happen.
However, I don’t believe FSU supporters should be concerned. FSU was the first Power 5 school to offer Kromenhoek before he was even a starter on his high school team.
That relationship is rock solid, and I don’t believe Georgia can or will try to do anything at the quarterback position at this moment since they have two QBs committed.
