The 2025 ACC/SEC Challenge will be hosted by South Carolina against Virginia Tech.
|Athletics of South Carolina, BRISTOL, Conn. The ACC/SEC Challenge 2025 matches were revealed by ESPN on Thursday.
On Tuesday, December 2, Virginia Tech will play South Carolina at Colonial Life Arena. Later on, TV network assignments and tip times will be decided. The game began in 2023, and the Gamecocks are 2-0 after defeating Notre Dame at home in 2023 and Boston College the previous season. The SEC finished 14-2 in the previous season, and the first round of games in 2023 saw a 7-7 draw between the two power leagues.
South Carolina leads the all-time series with the Hokies, 20-13. The Gamecocks beat the Hokies, 79-77, in the second game of the season in 2023 at the Spectrum Center in Charlotte in what was the first matchup between the two schools since 1997. B.J. Mack scored the go-ahead basket with 20 seconds left as he finished with 19 points and six rebounds. It was head coach Lamont Paris’ 100th career victory.
The Gamecocks beat Virgina Tech again, 70-60, last season on a neutral floor in the third-place game of the Beach Division at the Fort Myers Tip-Off. Carolina hit 11 3s in the game led by 16 points, eight rebounds, three steals and two blocks from All-SEC forward Collin Murray-Boyles.
