DALLAS COWBOY – Dak Prescott nearly ready for full return after major injury setback…..

Dak Prescott is back in action, almost. The Dallas Cowboys quarterback, who suffered a brutal right hamstring tear in Week 9 of the 2024 season, says he’s feeling strong and is cleared for everything except contact. Six months into recovery from a procedure that reattached the muscle to the bone, Prescott is participating in team activities during voluntary workouts, bringing hope to Cowboys fans ahead of the new season.

“Pretty much can do it all. Feel good,” the 32-year-old quarterback said on Tuesday. “I think I’m just not cleared for contact, which we’ve got a while for that anyways.”

Prescott says he’s ahead, not behind

Despite not being fully cleared, Prescott emphasized that he’s actually ahead in his offseason work, largely due to the early end to his 2024 season. “Left the season early… I was hurt,” he said, candidly acknowledging the difficult timing. “My offseason started way earlier, so that’s really essentially why I’m ahead.”

Prescott credited his recovery progress to the Cowboys’ rehab staff, particularly director of rehabilitation Britt Brown. After multiple injuries in recent years, including ankle, thumb, calf, shoulder, and now hamstring, Prescott knows the value of staying proactive and patient.

Injuries haven’t shaken Prescott’s focus

In total, Prescott has missed 26 games over the past five seasons due to various injuries. But his mindset hasn’t wavered. “People say a lot of things about me,” he said. “I just show up and control what I can control, getting healthy. Trying to stay healthy. Feels good.”
