GOOD NEWS: Alabama’s Jalen Milroe Announces Return; Head Coach Kalen DeBoer Weighs In
In a major boost for Alabama football, quarterback Jalen Milroe announced today that he will be returning for another season with the Crimson Tide. The news sparked immediate excitement across Tuscaloosa and beyond, as fans and teammates welcomed back one of the team’s most dynamic leaders.
Milroe, who showed tremendous growth and poise throughout last season, made his announcement via social media, stating, “The job’s not finished. I’m excited to come back, continue building with my brothers, and chase another championship for the Crimson Tide.”
First-year head coach Kalen DeBoer, who took over the program following Nick Saban’s retirement, quickly weighed in on the news during a press conference. “Having Jalen return is tremendous for us,” DeBoer said. “He’s a fierce competitor, a leader in the locker room, and someone who embodies the spirit of Alabama football. His experience and work ethic will be crucial as we move into this next chapter.”
Milroe’s return provides vital stability for a team undergoing changes with a new coaching staff. Last season, Milroe passed for over 2,800 yards and rushed for nearly 500 more, making him one of the most versatile quarterbacks in the SEC. His ability to extend plays, combined with an improving passing game, gives Alabama a strong foundation heading into the 2025 season.
DeBoer emphasized the importance of continuity, especially at the quarterback position. “Jalen’s commitment sends a message — we’re here to compete at the highest level,” he said. “We’re thrilled he’s chosen to finish what he started here.”
With Milroe back under center and DeBoer at the helm, Alabama fans have plenty of reasons to be optimistic about what’s ahead for the Crimson Tide.
