MAFS UK viewers slam groom’s insensitive comment after wife shares devastating personal tragedy
They’re not the only newlyweds experiencing issues on their honeymoon
MARRIED At First Sight UK viewers have slammed one of the new grooms for his reaction to his bride’s devastating personal tragedy.
Last night the first set of MAFS UK couples jetted off on their honeymoons after saying “I do”.
Lacey Martin and Nathan Campbell headed for The Gambia and the couple appeared to be hitting it off after a couple of awkward moments during the ceremony.
But Lacey was left unimpressed during a conversation with her new husband about why she chooses not drive.
After Lacey explained that she lost two close friends after they were involved in car accidents and also experienced a collision herself, Nathan didn’t have the best response.
The engineer from Somerset simple nodded his head and muttered: “Cool.”
Lacey later confronted Nathan about his blunt reaction, and he told her: “It’s easy for me to get a little bit distracted with what’s going on.
“I don’t want to blame my ADHD but, whether I was just not in the right head frame. I just sort of daydream away but I am registering what you’re saying.
“I apologise and I’ll switch on next time you mention anything that’s deep for you.”
But fans were furious with Nathan’s initial reaction to Lacey’s experiences.
Another wrote: “Imagine a family member or partner is diagnosed with terminal cancer, his response: Cool (continues cramming his mouth with food).”
And a third added: “He is not worth sitting through a “honeymoon” in the Gambia. Just no, walk away.”
Lacey and Nathan aren’t the only newlyweds who experienced issues on their honeymoon.
