One dead following fatal crash in Madison County.
One person is dead after a crash in Madison County Friday afternoon, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.
DPS says the crash happened at 4:21 p.m. on SH 21 near the Oxford Cemetery, which is between Madisonville and North Zultch.
An 18-wheeler traveling East was approaching a work convoy on the other side of a Hillcrest when it began to stop.
A Ford F350 also traveling east ended up driving into the rear of the 18-wheeler.
The driver of the Ford, Douglas Hancock Jr., 25, of Leona was pronounced dead at the scene, while the driver of the 18-wheeler had his injuries treated on-site and was released.
DPS is still investigating.
