BREAKING: Alabama football offensive tackle plans to enter transfer portal
Alabama football learned it won’t make the College Football Playoff on Sunday, and the offseason exits have already started.
Second-year offensive tackle Miles McVay plans to enter the transfer portal, his agents Chase Moss and Darren J. Wilson from Quality Control Sports told AL.com on Sunday.
McVay is a former four-star offensive tackle in the 2023 recruiting class from East St. Louis, Illinois. He is listed at 6-6, 342 pounds.
McVay saw time in four games as a freshman in 2023, in which he ultimately redshirted. Then in his second season for Alabama, McVay saw time in all 12 games, primarily on special teams. But he also received some offensive snaps against Western Kentucky, Wisconsin, Missouri, LSU and Mercer.
McVay became the second Alabama player who made their portal intentions known Sunday. Receiver Caleb Odom told On3 he plans to enter the transfer portal Sunday.
The transfer portal is set to open Monday for 20 days.
McVay joins Odom, receiver Kobe Prentice, linebacker Keanu Koht, defensive lineman Jehiem Oatis and cornerback Jahlil Hurley as players on this year’s roster who plan to enter the portal.
