Married At First Sight Season 18 Is Headed For Another Disastrous Season (All The Couples Seem Incompatible)
Married At First Sight Season 18 cast montage all cheering with champagne
The honeymoon phase is over for Married At First Sight season 18 couples, and most relationships are starting to look like a total disaster, indicating this season might end with no successful matches.
MAFS season 18 made its way to the windy city, with ten singles joining the cast of the reality show, which premiered on October 15. Last season was a trainwreck as it kicked off with a runaway bride and wrapped up with the cast forming no meaningful connections. Luckily, when MAFS season 18 premiered, it appeared promising.
Most couples seemed compatible.
The season began differently, with brides appearing to be very attracted to the grooms at the altar. MAFS experts matched Karla Juarez with Juan Franco, who expressed how handsome he was upon meeting him.
David Trimble was excited when he met his future wife, Michelle Tomblin. She embodied every trait he’d described to the matching experts – a blonde girl with blue eyes. Almost all the Chicago singles appeared happy with their partners, and no one would have guessed how dramatic the season would have turned, making it seem like a 2.0 edition of MAFS season 17.

Although Michelle and David seemed in sync during their first interactions, Michelle couldn’t get past David living with his parents. Michelle was shocked and treated David horribly after the revelation, even after he told her his living situation would change now that he was married.
The more Michelle learned about David, the more negative things she had to say about him. Later, Michelle admitted she wouldn’t share a bed with David after the honeymoon, proving this couple hadn’t formed a physical connection.
“I don’t think I’m ready to share a bedroom.
I’m not feeling a connection here, and so I definitely don’t think I will be comfortable sharing a bed with you.”
The Married At First Sight couple hadn’t been married for that long, so Michelle is right to feel uncomfortable. However, she signed up for the experiment and should be willing to go through with the process.
She has proved to be self-centered, judgmental, uptight, and unwilling to try and get to know David. On the other hand, David has been working hard to fix their marriage.
During the honeymoon, when Michelle was acting distant and asked for space, David reached out and asked her for dinner. Michelle was enraged and scolded him for contacting her, expressing that it made her “angry.”

Even though this Married At First Sight pairing had a great time after they went stand-up paddleboarding, they still have a long way to go. Michelle views David as a friend and less of a husband. It isn’t shocking for MAFS couples to break up before Decision Day. Michelle and David will either be part of the MAFS couples swapping scandal or end their union earlier.

Married At First Sight Season 18’s Madison and Dr. Pia Holec have serious expressions on their faces.
Madison Myers had been single for two years before joining MAFS.
She wanted to find the right person without risking heartbreak.
Madison was matched with her MAFS groom, Allen Slovick. Even though this pair started cordially, her good person persona mask came off over time, showing the MAFS star is hung up on the type of men she dated before. One of Madison’s greatest turn-offs was regarding Allen’s dressing style. She was ready to give him honest feedback after their honeymoon in Mexico, and that was one of the most heartbreaking conversations in MAFS season 18.
“I do want to talk a little bit just coming back from Mexico.
I’ve been able to collect my thoughts a little more and think of what I wanted to say, but how to say it I guess. ”
Madison wanted her partner to tone down his “loud outfits” since it wasn’t her style. She added that she wouldn’t “walk around totally a mess” and expected Allen to change his dressing style. This talk was in the name of the Married At First Sight cast member, expressing what she found attractive.
However, Madison worsened the situation after adding that she wanted Allen to be “actively” taking care of himself, thus ruining Allen’s confidence and deflating his spirit.
It must have dawned on him that Madison accused him of not caring for himself, which might have been hard to hear. Madison is a poor MAFS casting choice and has been giving a mean-girl vibe. Allen appears genuine and vulnerable and has an unwavering commitment to making his marriage work. That’s not the case with Madison. This is why Allen deserves a better partner who accepts him for who he is.
Emem Deserved A Better Match
Although Emem Obot and Ikcehi Ojoré have been married for a minute now, their interactions look like a colleague-type of friendship. The MAFS stars sought something more permanent when they joined the experiment.
That’s why their pairing seemed so perfect, not forgetting their Nigerian connection (Emem is Nigerian, and Ikechi’s name has Nigerian roots). Even though Emem seemed authentic and needed a life partner, Ikechi joined Married At First Sight for the wrong reasons – to promote his poetry book and his other future publications.
The couple hasn’t found a way of forming a meaningful connection. With this duo struggling with physical intimacy, it isn’t that difficult to wonder if Emem and Ikechi are still together.
In a recent episode, Emem told the experts that their physical connection struggle is still an issue since Ikechi would sleep and wake up early to hit the gym. The two are getting along fine, and love could grow, but Ikechi appears to have rehearsed for his role before joining the show and might not be in for marriage.
Camille Thinks Thomas Is Too “Suburban”
The MAFS Star Wants Usher Type Of Man
Camille Parsons almost had cold feet just before meeting her husband Thomas, who was ready to go through the experiment (via Lifetime). Although the pair had an incredible connection and a great honeymoon, Camille told Thomas he was more “suburban” than the guys she used to date.
Camille added that she wanted a person with a little more “R&B smoothness.” Usher Raymond, is that you? However, Camille admitted she was ready to explore a different connection. The whole point of the Marriage At First Sight experiment is to find someone different from what one would typically go for.
The stint pushes the participants from their comfort zone, allowing them to explore something unique with someone with similar goals. Thomas looks like a nice guy. The MAFS stars had different cultural upbringings, which could explain their different life views.
If only Camille stopped hanging onto the missing “smoothness and the swag factor,” the couple would work out. After all, they were already holding hands and sharing kisses during their last interaction with the Married At First Sight experts.
