MAFS UK star Kieran Chapman begs for help after tragic death of child
Married At First Sight star Kieran Chapman is celebrating his 29th birthday, but instead of a happy birthday message, he’s asked fans to donate to help the family of Archie York
Married At First Sight star Kieran Chapman has taken to Instagram on his 29th birthday to beg for help after a seven-year-old Archie York tragically lost his life after a very unfortunate explosion in Newcastle which destroyed six flats last month. Archie and 35-year-old Jason Laws died in the blast in Benwell, Newcastle, on 16 October. At the time, three adults and one child were rushed to hospital.
Kieran posted a photo of himself from the E4 show, alongside the caption: “You know what’s really sad? Today is my Birthday, 29, and I’ve woke up thinking how lucky I am to have made it to 29 years of age… many people don’t… and I am so grateful.
“However I can’t stop thinking about poor 7yr old Archie … who died because he was involved in a house explosion. I have over 400k followers between all my socials… and less than 1% of my followers have helped,” he penned.
He then asked followers to donate just £5.00 to help the families involved, instead of leaving him a Happy Birthday message on his big day. “It would mean the world,” Kieran concluded in the emotional post.
Speaking on the explosion at the time, Kieran wrote on the Go Fund Me page: “The explosion was that big, I live 4 miles away in my caravan and the van actually shook, I thought it was a mini earthquake” The fundraising page, which has been organised by the MAFS star himself, has currently received almost £30k of its £50k target.
The post was filled with supportive comments, as one penned
“Happy birthday Kieran, the family will be very grateful for everyone who’s donated to far and anyone else who does. Beautiful innocent little Archie – all the hearts are still all the broken for our angel.”

Since his appearance on the latest season of Married At First Sight, Kieran has amassed 200k followers on Instagram. He was paired with bride Kristina Goodsell on the show, and from their wedding and honeymoon, it looked like the two were a match made in heaven.
Unfortunately, things didn’t continue that way and the pair withdrew from the experiment just before the final vows. After the honeymoon, the couple became less intimate, and they then struggled further as Kieran was questioning if they could have a future together because of Kristina’s PMDD and their lack of alignment on future goals.
After leaving the experiment as friends.
Kieran penned a heartfelt message on Instagram in which he said: “I wasn’t the man for Kristina, and she deserves someone to put her on a pedestal.”
