Phillies’ All-Star 3B Alec Bohm Returns Over the Mets.

The Philadelphia Phillies got a big boost as they look to have a strong finish to the regular season. All-Star third baseman Alec Bohm made his return from the Injured List on Sunday to help his team to a 2-1 win over the New York Mets.

Bohm was reinstated to the active roster after a rehab assignment with Triple-A Lehigh Valley, where he made four at-bat appearances and had two hits. To make room for Bohm, the Phillies designated catcher Aramis Garcia for assignment.

Garcia, who joined Philly on a minor league contract in February, made three appearances in MLB and had no hits in seven at-bats.

Bohm landed on the IL earlier this month with a left-hand strain. He looked a bit rusty against the Mets, going 1-4 with a single, but just having him on the roster is a promising sign, considering how valuable he has been for the Phillies this season.

Through 131 games played in 2024, Bohm is batting .290 with 13 home runs, 89 RBIs, and five stolen bases and was previously named an All-Star for the first time in his career.

The Philadelphia Phillies currently own the best record in MLB at 90-59. With 9.0 games lead over the Mets and Atlanta Braves, the Phillies are in position to win their first NL East division title since 2011.
