Mark Robins transfer point made as Coventry City told ‘this is the season’
Coventry City have stolen a march on Championship rivals Hull as Brandon Thomas-Asante prepares to join the Sky Blues in a £2m deal.
The Tigers were in pole position to sign the West Brom player, but then Coventry City made their move and now the 25-year-old Ghana international is said to be heading for the CBS Arena.
It looks like another transfer coup for Mark Robins and his recruitment team as the City boss prepares for a season opener at Stoke City on August 10 (12.30pm).
It seems Thomas-Asante was persuaded to change his transfer plans by first team coach George Boateng, who was Ghana’s assistant manager before joining Robins’ back room staff earlier this summer.
There has been no official confirmation of a deal from City so far, but Sky Blues supporters have not been slow in delivering their verdict on the move… and what they expect Robins to do with potentially his latest arrival as the Sky Blues look like serious contenders for promotion to the Premier League.
