It’s decision day for one of the top defensive backs in the state of Florida as four-star Gregory ‘Zae’ Thomas will make his college choice.
The 6-foot-2, 190-pounder is ranked as the nation’s No. 190 overall prospect and No. 17 safety. He’s also the No. 23 ranked player in the state of Florida within the 2025 recruiting class.
Thomas has narrowed his near 30 offers down to two finalists.
I’ve written about this before but it feels very much destined that Zae Thomas ends up at Florida State. Thomas is a member of the Seminole Tribe of Florida and his former high school head coach during his freshman year is now Florida State’s defensive backs coach in Patrick Surtain Sr.. Thomas is a defensive back prospect that the ‘Noles, aside from his connections to the program, are prioritizing like a top target. He has positional versatility as he stars as a cornerback at his high school and on the 7-on-7 circuit but could move to safety at the next level as well. I’d be very surprised if Thomas did not pick the ‘Noles tonight.
