In-state four-star EDGE commits to South Carolina
On Thursday night, another name came forward with an announcement that he was pledging his services to the Gamecocks. 4-star class of 2025 EDGE prospect Jaquavious Dodd committed to the South Carolina Gamecocks over offers from the Virginia Tech Hokies, Virginia Cavaliers, and a bevy of smaller programs
One of the state of South Carolina’s top prospects in the 2025 class is now committed to the Gamecocks football program.
Eastside On3 four-star EDGE Jaquavious Dodd, a 6-foot-5-plus, 235-pounder, is the latest prospect to make his pledge to Shane Beamer’s football program.
The On3 Industry Ranking – a weighted average of all four major recruiting services – ranks Dodd as the sixth-best prospect in the state of South Carolina and as a three-star player.
On3 is individually particularly high on Dodd as a college prospect, ranking him number 139 nationally in the country and as the number two prospect in the Palmetto State.
Dodd chose the Gamecocks over offers from Virginia and Virginia Tech. As a junior, he tallied 13 sacks for his high school program.
“He just kind of stood out with the size, production,” said Charles Power, Director of Scouting and Rankings for On3, during a recent appearance on GC Live.
South Carolina offered Dodd in May after hosting him for an April campus visit and evaluating him during spring football. He is expected to make his official visit to Columbia during the 2024 season.
