Kentucky offers 5-star forward
On Monday, the recently hired Kentucky staff extended yet another scholarship offer.
Nate Ament, a five-star forward from Warrenton, Virginia’s Highland School, stated on social media that he had received an offer from the Wildcats.
In 247Sports’ updated class of 2025 player rankings, which were made public on Tuesday, Ament (6-9, 185) moved up six spots from No. 13 to No. 7 overall. According to 247Sports Director of Scouting Adam Finkelstein, Ament may be vying for a top-5 ranking
“Ament was considered for a move into the top-5,” Finkelstein wrote. “And if he continues to progress this summer, that jump could become a reality.”
UK joins an already extensive offer sheet for Ament, which also includes Kansas, Florida State, Ole Miss, Louisville, Virginia Tech, Missouri, Michigan, Indiana, Duke, Virginia, Pitt, Maryland, Providence, Illinois, Penn State, Wake Forest and Creighton.
Ament is one of four new offers extended by the new UK staff, joining Branson (Mo.) Link Academy 4-star center Chris Cenac, Hudson (Ohio) Western Reserve Academy 5-star power forward Niko Bundalo, and Washington (DC) Sidwell Friends School 4-star combo guard Acaden Lewis during an unofficial visit to campus on Monday.
Ament was a member of the United States under-18 team that Kentucky head coach Mark Pope flew to Argentina to scout at the FIBA U18 AmeriCup in Buenos Aires, where he averaged 3.7 points and 1.5 rebounds in helping Team USA to a perfect 6-0 record, winning its games by an average of 41.5 points per game en route to capturing the gold medal.
