Port Adelaide congratulates Rob Snowdon on King’s Birthday honours
The Port Adelaide Football Club congratulates Rob Snowdon on receiving a Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM) as part of the King’s Birthday honours for service to the community, and to Australian rules football, including roles at Port Adelaide.
Mr Snowdon is a former General Manager of Football Operations at both the Port Adelaide and Sydney Swans Football Clubs.
Mr Snowdon currently serves as Director on the Port Adelaide Football Club Board and as Chair of Power Community Ltd, following his appointment to these positions in 2022.
Mr Snowdon is also serving as a Director for the Specialised Assistance School for Youth and the Paraplegic & Quadriplegic Association of South Australia Ltd.
Port Adelaide chief executive Matthew Richardson congratulated Mr Snowdon on his King’s Birthday honour.
“On behalf of the entire Port Adelaide community I congratulate Rob and his family for being bestowed this significant honour,” Mr Richardson said.
“Rob has contributed so much to football and the broader community across a number of decades.
“From a Port Adelaide perspective, he was our General Manager – Football Operations from late 1997 to 2002, helping establish our formative years in the AFL.
“Currently Rob serves as a director on the Port Adelaide Football Club Board and is Chair of Power Community Limited, a role he is particularly passionate about in helping drive positive outcomes in the community.
“We applaud Rob for his dedication to the game of Australian Football and for his ongoing work in the broader community as acknowledged by this honour.”
