All roads seemed to lead to Auburn late this week as both the Auburn football and Auburn baseball programs added new commits and transfers to their rosters.
Head coach Hugh Freeze and the football coaching staff kicked things off Friday when they landed the commitment of 4-star offensive lineman Broderick Shull. Ranked as the #20 OT in the recruiting class of 2025 and the #6 recruit out of Oklahoma, Shull announced his decision just a week after completing his official visit with the Tigers.
The offensive tackle picked Auburn over Nebraska, Texas Tech, and Texas A&M. He took an official visit to Nebraska, but committed to the Tigers before his scheduled trips to the Texas schools. Shull is the fifth offensive line commit in Auburn football’s recruiting class of 2025, and the 13th commit.
Meanwhile, Auburn baseball head coach Butch Thompson added two players from the NCAA transfer portal — Lucas Steele and Eric Snow.
Transferring from Samford, Steele is a multi-talented switch hitter with the ability to play catcher and outfield. After two seasons with the Bulldogs, his career batting average is .280 with 29 home runs and 112 runs batted in. The Alabama native played high school ball at Hoover prior to his college career and has several connections to the Tigers.
“Auburn has been a part of my whole life,” Steele tells Auburnundercover.com. “We grew up Auburn fans. I have been to Auburn football games and baseball games. My brother in law (Richard Fitts) actually pitched at Auburn. That’s where him and my sister met. There’s another connection.”
A couple hours after Steele, former USF infielder Eric Snow. From Forsyth, Georgia, Snow started 55 of 56 games with the Bulls as a freshman and 43 of 46 games last season in which he batted .258 with nine doubles, one home run, 19 runs batted in and 21 runs scored.
The pair are great additions to the Auburn baseball team, which has lost several players to the transfer portal after the 2024 season.
