This includes winning Round 2 this year at Suncorp 28–18.

Form: South Sydney Rabbitohs

Has Souths made progress lately?

After two victories on either side of the Round 13 bye, their offense is finally clicking and living up to the hype that surrounded it when Jack Wighton joined the team in the beginning of the season.

Their season has taken a turn for the better with a 42-26 victory over Parra and a 46-12 annihilation of the Gold Coast. Former Canberra five-eight Wighton has returned to his comfortable position wearing the No. 6 jersey.

The addition of Cody Walker, who has (for the time being) unlocked his halves partner along with Damien Cook and Latrell Mitchell, has provided much-needed stability to the halves.

Over the last two weeks, the linebreaks (14) and tries (15) have more than doubled compared to their season averages; however, they have come against the two NRL defensively worst teams aside from Souths.

Brisbane Broncos Schedule

Brisbane’s season is progressing as it usually does at Origin time, but aside from their loss to the Gold Coast, they have only lost three times in the competition—twice against the Roosters and once against the top three teams overall.

Even at full strength, they haven’t been able to secure a victory against the top teams in the NRL this season, so concerns are still present.

Without Adam Reynolds in the lineup, Brisbane’s attack has suffered. They lost the run-meter battle against the Gold Coast in their last two games against them and were completely shut out of the territory against the Sharks, only participating in 29% of the game.

Their losses also demonstrate how vulnerable their defense is to a potent attack, giving up an average of 31 points when they are losing.
