Former BYU star Noah Waterman the final addition to the Louisville roster

The University of Louisville has completed the announcement of the new men’s basketball roster.

Former BYU forward Noah Waterman has been officially added to the roster for the Cardinals, completing the announcement of 13 new players. Waterman will join the Cardinals for his final year of eligibility after spending his two most recent seasons at BYU. He also made stops at Detroit Mercy and Niagara.

He committed to Louisville on May 18.

“Noah has a rare blend of size, skill and toughness,” U of L coach Pat Kelsey said in a release. “Very few players at 6-11 are capable of shooting the ball with the level of consistency that he has over his career. Noah has a captivating personality that translates onto the court through his passion and intensity. He has played some of his best basketball in some of the toughest environments in college basketball. His addition to the roster allows us a level of flexibility rare at this level.”

A native Savannah, N.Y., Waterman spent that last two seasons at BYU following a couple of years at Detroit Mercy. He began his college career with a season at Niagra.

Waterman appeared in 66 with 47 starts during his two seasons with the Cougars. He started all 33 games this past season, averaging 9.5 points and 5.4 rebounds per game. A threat to score from distance, he connected on 37% (57-154) of his three-points attempts. The year prior, he averaged 4.6 points and 2.8 rebounds.

In two seasons with Detroit Mercy, Waterman appeared in 36 games with 29 starts. He averaged 9.6 points and 4.2 rebounds over those two seasons.
