Florida Football: Two former Gators re-enter the Transfer Portal
A couple of Gators who transferred following the 2022 season are once again searching for a new home on the spring transfer portal, even though Florida Football has not yet had any entries as of this writing.
Third Time Is The Charm
Corey Collier became a member of the Gators in the 2021 class. Collier was ranked as one of the top 100 prospects by ESPN and Rivals, however he decided to transfer to Nebraska for the 2023 season after playing in just five games during his two seasons with the Gators.
This past season, the Miami native appeared in five games for the Cornhuskers but did not log a tackle. Collier was no longer with Nebraska, according to a report from February, and he wasn’t on the team when spring training started.
Collier’s eligibility will last for two more seasons.
David Conner arrived in Gainesville as part of the class of 2022. The offensive tackle was a consensus three-star prospect from all four major services, and was one of four offensive linemen the Gators signed in that class, in addition to the transfer of O’Cyrus Torrence.
Conner didn’t see the field in 2022 and transferred to Colorado in April of 2023. During his time in Boulder, Conner didn’t play a snap.
Conner is in the transfer portal with three seasons of eligibility left.
