The Eagles have claimed their first win of the 2024 season against an injury-hit Richmond outfit on Sunday, winning 16.13 (109) to 10.10 (70).

Jake Waterman (six goals, 18 disposals) and Elliot Yeo (27 disposals, game-high 19 contested possessions, 15 clearances and two goals) were integral in West Coast’s convincing win.

The Tigers, meantime, suffered their fifth loss of the campaign and will again lick their injury wounds after Jayden Short exited the game with a calf ailment.

Richmond was already missing star midfielder Tim Taranto after he fractured his forearm in a training mishap.

On Sunday, they were hit again with injury woes, with young gun Judson Clarke tearing his ACL playing VFL on Saturday.

“It’s another horrific injury blow,” Fox Footy’s Jon Ralph reported.

“More terrible news for the Tigers.”
