Another day, another rumor surrounding Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Tee Higgins.

Higgins and the Bengals are at an impasse with Higgins requesting a trade last month and the Bengals seemingly having no interest in moving him. The latest rumor comes from Andrew Fillipponi of 93.7 The Fan in Pittsburgh, who says the Pittsburgh Steelers have had “internal discussions” about trading for Higgins.

The Bengals aren’t likely to move Higgins and a trade to a division rival has as close to zero chance of happening as one could imagine. The Bengals would likely need an offer that blew them away to trade him to any team, but a team in the AFC North would likely have to make a historic offer for the Bengals to even pick up the phone.

The fact that trading for Higgins would require giving up substantial draft capital and agreeing to pay him a massive contract with large amounts of guaranteed money makes it unlikely that any deal would come to fruition.

Of course, in that situation, Higgins has to choose to play for nearly $21 million in one year or forgo that money and sit out the season.

If you’re looking for a good laugh, just close your eyes and imagine what Duke Tobin would say if Pittsburgh called about Higgins.
