The Oklahoma Sooners received some good news from the recruiting trail. Trent Wilson announced via social media a list of his top-seven schools at this point in his recruitment, the Crimson and Cream being one of them.

Oklahoma is listed alongside programs like Ohio State, Penn State and Texas A&M. Wilson has received scholarship offers from more than 30 schools, narrowing things down from a current total of 33 programs to these final four contenders. These finalists are in pursuit of an impressive talent at a premium position.

According to the industry-generated 247Sports Composite Player Rankings, the world of recruiting sees Wilson as the No. 141 overall recruit in the 2025 recruiting class. The four-star also rates as a top-20 defensive lineman nationally at No. 18 and a top-three player in the state of Maryland. As for the 247Sports Network’s specific rankings, there Wilson checks in as a three-star prospect, a top-30 defensive front liner in the country and a top-eight player in the Old Line State.

During the 2022 season, Wilson was names a MaxPreps Sophomore All-American second team selection after helping St. John’s secure its second straight WCAC title. After that year, he transferred into St. Frances Academy prior to his junior season. In 2023, Wilson was unfortunately forced to miss the first few outings of the season due to injury. But once he returned, Wilson was able to record 12 tackles and two sacks over six contests. Wilson reportedly stands at 6-foot-3 and 270-pounds with room to grow at the next level.

At this time, there are no 247Sports Crystal Ball predictions in regarding Wilson’s recruitment. He does not have a decision date set or a timeline in-mind. Wilson also has yet to finalize his official visit schedule for the summer, but it’s likely safe to assume all four schools in his list will be able to host an OV.

Wilson has been able to take spring unofficial visits to three of these four contenders so far. Most recently on campus at Ohio State, he visited Oklahoma and Texas A&M in March. Wilson is set to take an unofficial to Penn State during the month of April and you can never rule out the possibility of other trips popping up. After that, though, that could be when Wilson officially makes the transition from spring scheduling to summer plans.
