After a stellar rookie season Brock Badgers goaltender Connor Ungar signed a two-year Entry-level contract with the Edmonton Oilers that starts in the 2024-25 season. PuckPedia.com reports that his contract in each year includes a salary in the NHL of $775,000, a signing bonus of $85,000, and a minor-league salary of $82,500. The $775,000 is the league minimum salary, while $82,500 is the maximum minor-league salary for a player on an Entry-level deal.

This is the second time in the last five years a Brock Badgers goaltender has inked an Entry-level contract with a NHL team. Back in the 2018-2019 season, now Vegas Golden Knights goaltender Logan Thompson signed a two-year Entry-level contract with the team following an impressive season with the Badgers. Thompson had similar numbers as Ungar, going 18-6 with a 2.22 GAA and .934 SV% and won a Stanley Cup with Vegas in 2023. Ungar will now look to add to the legacy of successful Brock goaltenders and has a serious shot to take over the starting job for the Bakersfield Condors. With the uncertainty in net for the Edmonton Oilers and Ungar only being 22, the future is bright for the young goaltender.
