Soon the dead period will come to a close, which means the recruiting process will step back into the spotlight for some of the nation’s best. This includes none other than Michael Fasusi who knows what’s on the horizon.
“Man, I’m at that point right now where that pressure is going crazy,” Fasusi said. “Still having fun with it though, most definitely.”
Fasusi has been preparing properly, scheduling a slew of visits for the spring. He’ll be on campuses across the country, trying to gain some new experiences as it relates to his recruitment.
“It’s all part of getting out there and meeting new people,” Fasusi said. “Building up new connections and finding the right fit for me.”
Of course, this is only a minor step. Fasusi is still very much in the exploratory portion of his recruitment and these visits reflect that.
We’re taking a look at each position group as Oklahoma prepares to open spring practice on March 11. The fourth of a 10-part series looks at the tight ends.
The weak link on Oklahoma offense in 2023 was, without question, the tight end room.
The Sooners struggled with depth and production at the position last season, relying heavily on veteran Austin Stogner in his second stint with the program. That was hardly enough, though, and the position often felt like an afterthought within the offense.
