The relationship I have been building with the consistent staff members there has been nothing short of amazing and the upslopeNashville (Tenn.) Ensworth Top247 defensive lineman Ethan Utley has alerted 247Sports of his commitment date.
Also his birthday.
The blue-chipper will be coming off the board on March 28. The finalists are “Oklahoma, Texas, Michigan, Tennessee and Syracuse.”
The 6-foot-4, 270-pound Utley talked about what he’s looking for in a school.
“Great culture, great development, and a family feeling away from home,” he said.
Tabbed by the 247Sports Composite as the country’s No. 11 defensive lineman and No. 115 prospect overall, Utley highlighted what stands out about each program.
Regarding Michigan: “I think the Coach Moore era at Michigan is going to be great. Them replacing coaches with guys like Coach Scruggs, knowing the type of guy he is will help them get back to a National Championship and develop great players.”
Regarding Oklahoma: “Just that connection I have with Coach Bates and Chavis and how they are on the come-up destined for great things in the SEC.”
Regarding Syracuse: “Syracuse is a perfect program for Coach (Fran) Brown to take over and with Coach E(lijah) Robinson alongside him they will be unstoppable and have great team camaraderie and a winning culture up there will grow quickly.”
Regarding Tennessee: “The relationship I have been building with the consistent staff members there has been nothing short of amazing and the upslope they are on right now is noticeable and Coach Heup is leading the program where it needs to be.”
Regarding Texas: “Texas is the hot team right now and I think their move to the SEC will help solidify themselves as one of the best if not the best team in college football.”
