Miami Heat players Jimmy Butler and Nikola Jovic were not allowed in the arena to watch Monday’s game against the Sacramento Kings.
Still, they made the most it while they served one-game suspensions for their roles in Friday’s altercation against the New Orleans Pelicans. Butler and Jovic watched from a nearby restaurant.
Despite playing without Jovic, Butler, Thomas Bryant, Terry Rozier, Josh Richardson and Tyler Herro, the Heat defeated the Kings. It prompted Butler and Jovic to break out a “Let’s Go Heat” chant from their table.
Butler started it before asking Jovic to join in. Butler then requested Jovic to say the words in Serbian, his native language. Finally, Jovic starts singing the theme from “Bad Boys” after Butler dubbed them the Will Smith and Martin Lawrence characters from the movie based in Miami.
With the Heat playing without so many key players, this is arguably the best win of the season. Herro, Butler and Rozier make up 66 percent of the starting lineup while Richardson, Jovic and Bryant are key reserves.
The Heat have won eight of 10 since enduring a seven-game losing streak in January. They return to action tonight on the road against the Portland Trail Blazers.
