Kansas State scored a big recruitingf. win on Monday, landing a President’s Day commitment from Saint Louis (Mo.) De Smet quarterback Dillon Duff.
The 6-foot-2, 190-pound Duff becomes commit No. 1 for head coach Chris Klieman and his staff in the 2025 cycle. He chose to play for the Wildcats over an offer list that included Nebraska, Georgia Tech, Indiana, Minnesota, Missouri and Duke.
“A lot of different reasons jump out as to why I chose K-State but it truly is all about the people,” Duff said. “K-State is a stable program that competes at a high level with a great coaching staff.”
Kansas State offered Duff in January and he visited the first weekend of February, committing just a little over two weeks later. Offensive coordinator Matt Wells led the charge in recruiting him.
“I’ve kept relations with the Coach Klieman, Coach Wells, and the rest of the offensive staff and I feel wanted at K-State,” Duff said. “Coach Klieman’s track record of successful quarterbacks speak for themself and after taking a visit there and understanding the culture around it, I knew I found my home.”
Duff feels he can reach his full potential under Klieman.
“Coach Klieman has the ability to impact players and coaches like no other coach I’ve seen,” he said. “He can rally an army around him through love and support. He’s a great coach and even better person and I can’t wait to learn from him and get to know him better. K-State has a bright of a future as any other team and I’m excited to see what they do this upcoming season.
“The sky is the limit.”
As a junior Duff racked up 2,458 yards and 23 touchdowns. He is an athletic passer that can really drive the football downfield, but also shows those touch throws and ability to anticipate and gives his pass catchers the opportunities to make plays after the catch.
Kansas State had everything he was looking for.
“I believe they’re gonna help me reach my full potential as a football player but also as a brother, father, husband, and son of God,” Duff said.
