MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — Martinsburg quarterback Murphy Clement has committed to play at West Virginia University. Clement has accepted a preferred walk-on offer to compete for the Mountaineers.
Clement rushed for four touchdowns and 210 yards in the Bulldogs’ 57-13 win over Princeton in the Class AAA state title game. He also passed for two touchdowns in that game.
Clement passed for 1,677 yards in his senior season and accounted for 40 total touchdowns in leading the Bulldogs to a 13-0 campaign. Murphy’s older brother Hudson entered the WVU program as a walk-on two years ago. He earned a scholarship during his redshirt freshman season in 2023. Hudson caught 22 passes for 480 yards for four touchdowns this past fall.
