Three weeks from today, the whole NFL landscape will shift once more when all 32 clubs compete for positions during free agency. However, although much discussion is around which players should be re-signed and which should be sought, there is little discussion regarding which players teams should just let walk away.
So, which current pending free players should the Jaguars try in free agency? We take a look at a few alternatives below.

K’Lavon Chaisson  The Jaguars had great expectations when they selected K’Lavon Chaisson with the 20th selection in the 2020 NFL Draft, but he has only five sacks in 57 games since then. Chaisson has been offered opportunities as a starter and a vital backup, but he has failed to capitalize on them. As much as the Jaguars are sure

JAMAL AGNEW Do not get things twisted: Jamal Agnew was unstoppable for three seasons as a Jaguar. Over the previous three years, he has been one of the top kick and punt returners in the NFL, and he has also demonstrated big-play ability when employed correctly on offense. Many weeks, the biggest play of the game was either created by Agnew or inspired by one of his spectacular returns.
However, the Jaguars are not in the same situation as they were during the 2021 summer. They could afford to pay a high price for a returner and part-time receiver back then. However, given the Jaguars’ cap position, they are likely better suited depending on sixth-round selection Parker Washington and his substantially lesser deal to fill Agnew’s job.

Brandon McManus. Brandon McManus had several challenges in 2023. McManus failed to comeback from one of his worst seasons in 2022 in 2023. He started the season 20-for-22 in the first ten games and only missed two field goals in one game, in Week 3. McManus failed in Week 12, producing only 10-of-15 foals.
