ACC Preseason Player of the Year: Kyle Filipowski, C, Duke

Entering the year, Kyle Filipowski was the talk of the ACC. He was expected to have a monster sophomore campaign. And while he has had some big time moments, his second year in Durham has been a bit underwhelming. This has opened the door to an arch rival to grab the award.

RJ Davis, the North Carolina senior, has grown into a national star in Chapel Hill. He’s in the midst of a redemption tour after the Tar Heels completely imploded in the 2022-23 season.

Davis has been a lethal scorer and shot-maker all year long. On 17 occasions, Davis has eclipsed 20 points with his season-high coming in a 36-point explosion over Wake Forest. RJ Davis has a firm grip on the ACC Player of the Year award. It would be a shock to see anyone steal the crown.
