Sydney Roosters 20 defeated Wests Tigers 18.

The Sydney Roosters Lisa Fiaola Cup team resumed their winning ways in their debut season, defeating the Wests Tigers by two points at Leichhardt Oval on Saturday.
A pair of four-pointers in the first fifteen minutes gave the Roosters a comfortable lead, but the Tigers returned serve for a 10-6 halftime lead for the visitors.

Irae Savea scored minutes after the game resumed, and while two tries for the host team put the Roosters down with less than ten minutes remaining, Talea Tonga’s length-of-the-field effort secured the victory.

The Sydney Roosters will try to make it three out of three this Saturday when they welcome the St George Illawarra Dragons at Henson Park in Round 3.

In a low-scoring affair, the Central Coast Roosters were pipped by the Illawarra Steelers by just two points in their Round 2 match.

The Roosters found themselves with a mountain to climb, trailing by eight points to nil early on before a four-pointer on the stroke of half-time to Grace Dabin closed the gap to just two at the break.

Illawarra returned serve to extend their lead, and despite a late four-pointer to fullback Mia Vaotu’ua, the Tricolours were unable to come up with another try, falling short 12-10.

The Central Coast Roosters will look to bounce back when they travel to Shark Park to face the Cronulla-Sutherland Sharks on Saturday for their Round 3 clash.
