The South Carolina Gamecocks football staff is kicking off the 2025 recruiting season by personalizing video messages to these prospects, letting them know they are a major target for the Gamecocks. The Gamecocks, led by their creative team, which is regarded as one of the best in the country under Justin King, as well as key contributors Zach Frehse, Ethan Styll, Alex Marinelli, and Jacob Reeves, among many others, have been sending out personalized videos for each target with a brief message explaining why South Carolina is their home.
When Staples first met with Rattler, he questioned what he would say if someone told him he would end up in South Carolina and liked it. Rattler said, “I would have thought you’re nuts. Coming out of high school, I never believed South Carolina was a good idea. As you mature, as opportunities occur, and as you face difficulty, it arose and proved to be a terrific step for me.”
Rattler was also able to discuss one of his best memories from South Carolina. Without hesitation, he stated, “Definitely, in the 2022 season, [the] Tennessee win and then beat Clemson that next week.” Spencer went on to say that in those games, he felt like everything was coming together because they were moving the ball down the field and putting it in the hands of his playmakers.
Rattler was asked what he hopes to show NFL GMs: “I can show them I’m one of the best quarterbacks in this draft, I can make every throw on the field, I’m a quick learner, processor, I understand multiple offensive systems, and I can get it done.”
