CLEVELAND, Ohio — One of the Cavaliers’ top rivals in the Eastern Conference made a massive move on NBA trade deadline day.

ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reported that the New York Knicks are acquiring Bojan Bogdanovic and Alec Burks from the Detroit Pistons in exchange for Quentin Grimes, Evan Fournier, Malachi Flynn, Ryan Arcidiacono and two future second-round picks.

Bogdanovic has been with the Pistons for the last two seasons and in 2023-24, he is averaging 20.2 points while shooting 46.8% from the field and 41.5% from 3-point range on 7.4 attempts per game.

Burks, who is an expiring free agent, is averaging 12.3 points off the bench for Detroit.

They will join a Knicks team that is tied with the Bucks for third in the Eastern Conference at 33-18, one game back of the Cavaliers for second.

Grimes is in his third season and is averaging 7.3 points in 20.2 minutes. He started 66 games for the Knicks last season, averaging 11.3 points while shooting 38.6% from three.

He now headlines the package heading to Detroit. The Pistons, who have the worst record in the NBA at 7-43, have been busy prior to the deadline, acquiring forward Simone Fontecchio from the Jazz on Wednesday and reportedly adding Danuel House Jr. from the 76ers on Thursday.
