This summer, the Texas Longhorns had one of the biggest transfer hauls in the country, bringing in difference-makers at nearly every position of need, including four offensive pass catchers and aid at safety, linebacker, and defensive tackle. Edge rusher Trey Moore, who rated third in the portal, may have been their most significant signing. Moore not only fills a critical need for Texas after the team failed to rush the passer in 2023, but he also gives amazing versatility for the Horns up front, letting guys like Ethan Burke to transition to a more natural fit at JACK with Barryn Sorrell.

In fact, Bleacher Report believes Moore is such a good fit in Austin, that they are predicting him to have an ‘All-American’ impact next season for the Horns.

“There are fewer “sure things” on this list than Trey Moore getting into the spotlight at the flagship school of the Lone Star State and making a name for himself,” Bleacher Report stated. “He was probably one of the top five (if not the best) defensive players in the whole Group of Five at UTSA. Watch out for him to make an All-American impression. “Yes, he is that good.” Moore, a native of Spring Branch, Texas, chose the Longhorns over Ohio State, Alabama, and other high-profile colleges through the NCAA Transfer Portal.

Moore was an exceptional star for the Roadrunners, helping lead the team to a 21-7 record over the previous two seasons, setting school records along the way and earning Freshman All-American honors in his redshirt freshman season.
