Arizona football is finishing its coaching staff, with Brent Brennan making an outstanding hire on Thursday. The Wildcats have been looking for a new offensive coordinator, and it appears they have found one in Dino Babers, former Syracuse head coach.

According to Troy Hutchinson of Arizona Rivals, Babers will serve as both offensive coordinator and quarterback coach. Arizona football hopes to enhance its offense with this move.

“Now, sources have told GOAZCATS.com that the Wildcats will be hiring former Syracuse head coach Dino Babers as Brennan’s offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach.”

Brent Brennan and Dino Babers have already worked together, according to ESPN’s Pete Thamel. The two will collaborate again, but this time they will play considerably larger roles in the Arizona football team.

“Can confirm Rivals’ story that Arizona is poised to sign Dino Babers as their next offensive coordinator. Brent Brennan, a former Syracuse coach, was a graduate assistant there. He’s a competent play-caller with experience at [Syracuse], [Bowling Green], and Eastern Illinois.”

This is a promising hire for the Wildcats. Despite losing Jedd Fisch to the Washington Huskies in the summer, Arizona football is doing an excellent job of replacing him. Brennan and Babers both add a wealth of expertise to the coaching staff, which should keep the squad competitive going ahead.
