Jordan Travis, a former Florida State football player, is still furious over his team’s failure to go to the College Football Playoff this season. Despite a 13-0 ACC record, Florida State failed to qualify for the CFP. Travis sustained a horrific season-ending ankle injury, which some blamed for Florida State’s failure to qualify.

“It felt like it was my fault,” Travis told The Athletic on Sunday. “That was certainly the worst sensation I’ve experienced in a long time. That definitely terrible. I feel like I let many people down.

Travis was wounded in a November game against North Alabama. While Florida State was able to continue winning without him, the offensive was not the same. The CFP committee noted that injuries are considered when deciding which teams should advance to the playoffs. Florida State football was left out, and Georgia defeated them 63-3 in the Orange Bowl.

“At the end of the day, I couldn’t control that,” Travis said. “God has a plan for everything.”

The former Florida State quarterback believes his team would have won the College Football Playoff if accepted in 2023. Travis is currently on the mend, working his way back to health with the hopes of getting picked in the NFL. According to The Athletic, he’s wearing a walking boot and is optimistic about the future.

“We’re taking steps,” Travis said. “At the present, I get to get up in the morning, so I’m grateful, and I’ll grin anyway. I’ll be out here shortly.
