Louisville, Ky. – Just over two months after receiving their first commitment in the Class of 2025, the Louisville football team has acquired their second talent in the cycle, this time from their own backyard. Gradey Anthony, an in-state two-way lineman for Goshen (Ky.) North Hardin, revealed Friday that he has verbally committed to the Cardinals. His pledge to Louisville comes only a few days after visiting campus earlier this week for the program’s Junior Day.
“First and foremost I’d like to give thanks to my parents, friends, and family for assisting me through this journey,” Anthony said on his Twitter account. “I’d also like to thank my coaches for pushing me to my limits and shaping the guy I’ve become. My granddad inspired me to play and was always my biggest admirer. Thank you, God, for guiding me into this situation and allowing me to see the light in the darkness. Finally, I’d want to thank my teammates and the North Oldham community for their support during this trip.
The 6-foot-5, 266-pound lineman may not be a nationally regarded recruit, but he had a spectacular junior season for North Hardin. As an inside offensive guard, he helped the Trojans rush for 890 yards and pass for 2,565 yards in 2023. As a defensive lineman, he had 33 tackles, including five for loss, a sack, and a fumble recovery. Anthony is now the second commitment to Louisville’s 2025 recruiting class, following Oxford (Ala.) HS quarterback Mason Mims, who pledged in late November. In the more imminent 2024 recruiting cycle, Louisville signed 14 recruits during the December Early Signing Period.
