Another member of the Los Angeles Rams coaching staff has been requested to be interviewed, and it could be a bigger and better role for him. The New Orleans Saints have requested to interview Rams quarterback coach Zac Robinson for their open offensive coordinator position. The Saints have a talented roster, but some questionable coaching decisions have led them to struggle the past few seasons.
Robinson himself was drafted out of Oklahoma State University as a quarterback by the New England Patriots in 2010, and as a coach, he has been with the Rams since 2019. Not only has Robinson served as the quarterback coach for the Rams, but he is also the passing game coordinator. This season, the Rams had the seventh-ranked passing attack in the NFL, led by veteran quarterback Matthew Stafford, who is on his way to the Pro Bowl. With players as talented as Alvin Kamara and Chris Olave on the roster, the Saints might be a new offensive coordinator away from figuring it out, and Robinson might be the answer. McVay talked more about how he feels about how his coaching staff will look going forward in a recent presser. “I feel really good about our coaching staff,” McVay said. “I think it was good to be able to have a lot of continuity. Obviously, there could be some chips that end up falling into place relative to Raheem getting an opportunity to be a head coach. If that doesn’t occur and people don’t get better opportunities, then we’ll have the same group back.”
