The Texas Longhorns coaching staff remains intent on adding a second wide receiver through the NCAA transfer portal with Oregon State Beavers standout Silas Bolden scheduled to visit the Forty Acres next weekend, according to multiple reports.

The 5’8, 157-pound rising senior is also scheduled to visit Arizona, Washington, and USC.

After hosting Liberty transfer CJ Daniels over the weekend, a big-play threat on the outside, Bolden would fit in the slot as a dynamic jitterbug who could also replace Xavier Worthy on punt returns. A California native, Bolden caught 80 passes for 1,076 yards and nine touchdowns in his Oregon State career, including 54 catches for 746 yards and five touchdowns in 2023, his most productive season by far. Bolden also returned a punt for a touchdown and returned kickoffs, as well, in addition to rushing for 202 yards and four touchdowns in his career.

Texas is losing Jordan Washington in the slot and Worthy and AD Mitchell both declared early for the 2024 NFL Draft, leaving the Longhorns almost completely bereft of returning receivers with college receptions. In December, Texas landed Houston transfer Matthew Golden and is now looking to add a second wide receiver.
