Nebraska announced that one of its recent transfer portal additions is officially a Husker.
The Nebraska football Twitter account announced that Oregon running back transfer Dante Dowdell is officially in the program.
Dowdell committed to Nebraska on Jan. 6 following an official visit to Lincoln, choosing the Huskers over Mississippi State.
Dowdell and the other Husker January enrollees will arrive on campus this weekend to begin winter conditioning workouts.
The 6-foot-2, 215-pound running back appeared in six games as a freshman at Oregon, finishing with 17 carries for 90 yards, with the bulk of it coming in the first game of the season, when he had eight carries for 55 yards and his only touchdown of the season. The running back got three carries in his final appearance against Arizona State, but primarily spent his first season in Eugene battling for snaps in a talented, but crowded running back room.
247Sports ranked Dowdell as a four-star transfer with an overall rating of 90. That slotted Dowdell as the No. 114 overall player available in the portal and the No. 11 running back.
As a recruit, Dowdell was a four-star prospect and the No. 9 running back in the country for the 2023 recruiting class according to 247Sports.
