NASHVILLE, Tenn. Will Levis, the Tennessee Titans’ rookie quarterback, did not practice on Wednesday, although he expressed confidence in his chances of playing before the practice session. Levis was sacked during the second quarter of last week’s 26-3 loss to the Houston Texans, resulting in a right foot injury. He was carried off the field and did not return to the game. He was one of ten Titans listed on the team’s injury report on Wednesday. Levis is also suffering with a past ankle injury. Levis informed reporters during his weekly press conference that he’s working hard with trainers to recover from both ailments.
“I’m not limping around too much, so I feel pretty good,” Levis said. “(Trainers) have a bunch of rehab stuff I am able to do with the ankle and the foot; they are different, obviously. I am just doing what they tell me to do.”
Titans coach Mike Vrabel said veteran quarterback Ryan Tannehill would get the start if Levis can’t go. Levis has 1,808 passing yards with eight touchdowns and four interceptions, with a passer rating of 84.2 in nine starts. Wide receiver Colton Dowell (knee), cornerback Eric Garror (illness/knee), defensive back Anthony Kendall (knee), and defensive lineman TK McLendon (shoulder) also didn’t participate in Wednesday’s practice. Guard Daniel Brunskill (ankle), tackle Jaelyn Duncan (neck), wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins (NIR-Rest), outside linebacker Caleb Murphy (shoulder), cornerback Sean Murphy-Bunting (hip), and tight end Kevin Rader (hip) were limited in practice. Linebacker Otis Reese (groin) was a full participant.
