Alabama NFL roundup: Najee Harris wants to stay in the

Following Pittsburgh’s 34-11 victory over the Cincinnati Bengals last week to snap a three-game losing streak, Steelers running back Najee Harris stated, “One game is good, but we need to win two more.”

Pittsburgh accomplished half of that on Sunday, defeating the Seattle Seahawks 30-23, as Harris rushed for 122 yards and two scores on 27 attempts.

Harris scored on a 9-yard rush as Pittsburgh seized a 17-14 lead with 1:36 left in the first half and a 4-yard run as the Steelers moved up 24-17 with 6:57 left in the third quarter in his first 100-yard game of the season.

Harris would have definitely scored a third touchdown, but he slid down at the Seattle 5-yard line at the end of a 12-yard run, allowing Pittsburgh to kneel out the last 22 seconds.

The Steelers are coming off their two highest-scoring games of the season as they head into their regular-season finale against the Baltimore Ravens on Jan. 7 still in contention for the playoffs.

“It shows the progression we have shown, the grit that we have, the resiliency,” Harris went on to say. “It just demonstrates a lot about the offense.” We had a lot of distractions this year, as I mentioned before, and for (quarterbacks coach/play-caller Mike Sullivan) and (interim offensive coordinator Eddie Faulkner) to have a good game plan, execute it, and the O-line to come through, that shows you what kind of team we are.

We’re doing a terrific job of staying on track. Things like this will happen if we remain together like we did and truly believe and execute the game plan. Really just a fantastic job by the offensive line, receivers, coaches Sully and Faulk doing their jobs and establishing the run and executing the game plan they offer.”
