Reed Blankenship left the game against the Arizona Cardinals early due to injury but was able to return.
The Arizona Cardinals and Philadelphia Eagles are embroiled in a tight Week 17 battle, and the home team will be without their leading tackler for the time being.
Reed Blankenship, an Eagles safety, left the game early in the second quarter and went straight to the blue medical tent with an unidentified injury.
(via Oliva Reiner): “Reed Blankenship is out of the medical tent and seems to be in good spirits hyping Sydney Brown up after his pick six. Just gave him a big hug. Blankenship has also got his helmet back.”
UPDATE: Blankenship has returned to the field.
Blankenship entered Week 17 with 97 tackles, 10 passes defensed, two interceptions, and one fumble recovered. He’s played a significant role in sealing the Eagles’ postseason spot, as well as the NFC East title.
A few plays after Blankenship’s touchdown, Eagles cornerback Sydney Brown returned a 99-yard interception for a touchdown. In the second quarter, Philadelphia leads 14-3.
