This season, the NFL veteran has made nine appearances for the Dallas Cowboys.

According to multiple sources close to the team, the Dallas Cowboys dismissed former Alabama linebacker Rashaan Evans on Wednesday in order to activate an offensive lineman off injured reserve.

Evans played in nine Cowboys games before being taken into custody in Frisco on Tuesday for having between two and four ounces of marijuana on him.

This was his first season with the Cowboys after being signed to the practice squad in October. Evans had accumulated just nine tackles for the Dallas defense. He played 49% of the defensive snaps against the Giants in Week 10 but made his most tackles, three each against the Commanders in Week 12 and against the Bills in Week 15.

The 2018 first round draft pick spent four seasons with the Tennessee Titans and then one year with the Atlanta Falcons before joining the NFC East powerhouse.

The Dallas Cowboys now have no former Alabama players on its roster, joining the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Arizona Cardinals, Kansas City Chiefs, Green Bay Packers, New Orleans Saints and Minnesota Vikings.

The 6-foot-2, six-year veteran will have to sort out his legal issues before joining another football roster.
