Can Scott score one more goal versus New York?
After losing three straight games, the Philadelphia Eagles will try to turn things around on Christmas Day when Jalen Hurts and company host the New York Giants. The Eagles have been struggling lately, but with the “Giant Killer” in their corner, this home game may be the catalyst for success that they’ve been waiting for.
That’s correct, the Eagles exclusively use their secret weapon when playing New York. Boston Scott, the running back, is that covert weapon. Scott is not the Eagles’ primary offensive weapon. In 12 games this season, he has only managed 16 rushes for 78 yards. But against the Giants, the 5-foot-6 Scott has a reputation for making big plays, particularly when he gets into the end zone.
Throughout his career, Scott has scored 17 touchdowns throughout the regular season. Against the Giants, a staggering ten of those touchdowns have occurred! In his eight career regular-season outings versus New York, he has never failed to score in those matches. Because of this, bookmakers have started to focus on him for “anytime touchdown” wagers, and within the past week, his chances of finding the end zone have significantly changed.
According to CBS News, Scott began at +1000 at FanDuel Sportsbook as an anytime touchdown scorer. By Sunday AM, those odds had dropped to +300! Additionally, Scott has odds of +300 at Caesars Sportsbook and +350 at BetMGM to reach the end zone.
For a player who has only played 46 offensive snaps this season and hasn’t scored a touchdown, those odds are quite impressive. However, Scott’s track record versus the Giants is unquestionable. This is, I suppose, what you would refer to as a “squad ride.”
