Former Badgers starting WR Chimere Dike commits to Florida

The Badgers receiver is joining forces with his former quarterback down south.

Former Wisconsin Badgers wide receiver Chimere Dike has committed to the Florida Gators, he announced on X Wednesday.

Dike, a graduate transfer, has one year of remaining eligibility, and will spend it alongside a familiar face, as he will join former Badgers quarterback Graham Mertz, who announced his decision to return for a final year.

As a junior, Dike had 47 catches for 689 yards and six touchdowns when catching passes from Mertz.

But, his production dropped as the Badgers changed offenses to offensive coordinator Phil Longo’s Air Raid system. As a result, Dike caught just 19 passes for 328 yards and a touchdown as a senior, while playing in just eight games.

In 2023, Dike was moved to an outside receiver role to accommodate breakout wideout Will Pauling, who took over the starting slot position after transferring in from Cincinnati.

Now at Florida, Dike will look to help the Gators as they move forward without top receiver Ricky Pearsall, who declared for the NFL Draft earlier this month.
