Deion Sanders’ transfer portal now includes twins from Kentucky.

Deion Sanders and Colorado secured another significant recruiting success, this time from two standouts who also happen to be twin twins. Former Kentucky quarterback Destin Wade (QB) and defensive end Keaten Wade (DE) are likely to transfer to the Buffaloes, improving both the quarterback room and the defensive line.

Both brothers joined the Wildcard after being four-star talents in Tennessee’s 2022 recruiting class. Keaten was a prominent defensive player for the Wildcats in 2023, finishing with 35 tackles and one sack. Destin, on the other hand, did not see much action. He made his college debut against Iowa in the TransPerfect Music City Bowl, completing 16 of 30 passes for 98 yards.

The twins’ departure from Kentucky, on the other hand, is not solemn. In statements obtained by the Main Street Maury, Steve Wade, the brothers’ father, lambasted the Wildcat coaching staff for preventing Destin from participating.

“Destin could have been as good as our quarterback this year.” Nothing any of those people sitting in that quarterback’s seat couldn’t do (that Leary did). They didn’t even give him a chance to compete. So we have to do what we have to do. He has to get out on the field somewhere.”

Destin will almost certainly see action in Colorado, though it won’t be major because Shedeur Sanders is slated to return for his senior season. He will, however, have the opportunity to establish himself as Sanders’ heir apparent once the star quarterback joins the NFL Draft pool.

Meanwhile, Keaton will undoubtedly contribute to the Buffaloes’ defense. His presence on Colorado’s defensive line will greatly aid their passing rush, limiting the opposition quarterback’s time in the pocket, and suppressing running backs trying for explosive runs.

Colorado continues to make strides on the recruiting path, proving to be a force to be reckoned with as it transitions from the PAC-12 to the Big 12.
