Ravens Get Encouraging Injury News On Key Defender
The Baltimore Ravens secondary took a hit in Week 14 when safety Kyle Hamilton went down with a knee injury on the final play of the first quarter.
Hamilton appeared to go down away from contact – typically a sign of a serious injury – but returned in the third quarter.
However, the Ravens took him out soon after he returned and ruled him out for the rest of the game.
Baltimore got some good news about his status, though: Hamilton reportedly suffered a grade 1 MCL sprain and might not miss any games.
The former No. 14 round pick in 2022 was in the midst of a great sophomore season.
Not only did Hamilton have two interceptions, six pass break-ups and three sacks, but he was third on the team with 69 combined tackles and second on the team with nine tackles for a loss.
Hamilton won’t make-or-break the Ravens’ season, but his availability will be crucial for the Ravens’ final slate of games.
Baltimore could secure the AFC North soon and is in contention for the No. 1 seed depending on how the Miami Dolphins also play the rest of the season.
The Ravens have games against the Jacksonville Jaguars, San Francisco 49ers, and Dolphins still on the docket before a season finale against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
The Jaguars, 49ers, and Dolphins are all playoff teams who can put up points in bunches, so Hamilton’s presence would be huge for any of those contests.
Geno Stone will likely be his replacement if Hamilton can’t go in Week 15.
