Auburn Tigers Sign Fast Wide Receiver From Transfer Portal

The Auburn Tigers had a season that fell short of expectations. They finished the season 6-6, however that record was misleading. They only fell by seven points to Georgia, and it took a miraculous play from Alabama for the Tigers to lose. The squad is hoping to bounce back next year and has already received their first commitment from the transfer site. Robert Lewis, a former Georgia State wide receiver, has stated that he will play for Auburn next season.

Auburn Tigers sign wide receiver Robert Lewis

Lewis is a standout wide receiver in the Sun Belt Conference. He had 70 receptions for 877 yards and seven receiving touchdowns in 2023. Hugh Freeze, the team’s head coach, recognized the need to strengthen the offense’s weapons. The receivers are looking much better with the addition of recruits from the 2024 class and the commitment of Lewis. He said this in a statement to On3.

“I believe Auburn is the right fit for me because the scheme they run is compatible with mine.” We were on the same page about a lot of things about my tape while talking football with Coach Davis. We were stating the same thing, but in different words. Also, with the function I’ll be assigned in the receiver room, I believe I can help them advance to the next level.”
