A 5-star commit wins the state championship, and a flip target meets with UGA.

In this edition of Auburn Tigers news, Cam Coleman, a 5-star Auburn football pledge, wins the state championship, and KJ Bolden gets another in-home visit.

Cam Coleman’s transfer from Texas A&M to the Auburn Tigers was undoubtedly the greatest story of the year. Coleman is the Tigers’ highest-ranked offensive prospect in the modern period, and he is the Tigers’ highest-ranked commit in the 2024 class.

Central-Phenix City won the 7A Alabama state championship game earlier this week against the four-time reigning champs from Thompson. Coleman scored the game-winning touchdown, a 73-yard run, to give the Red Devils a 21-13 lead over Thompson. He was also voted the game’s MVP.

According to Auburn Rivals, Auburn football wide receivers coach Marcus Davis was in attendance, and Coleman stressed how important it was for Davis to observe the game.

“It means a lot,” remarked Coleman. “It means a lot to play in front of Coach Davis.” It implies he’s putting in the time and effort to come up here and watch me play, and as a player, that means a lot.”

KJ Bolden meets Kirby Smart

With Cam Coleman’s pledge sealed, Auburn Tigers 5-star safety KJ Bolden is perhaps the most-wanted recruit on the board. Bolden committed to Florida State in August, but has had interest from clubs such as Auburn football and Georgia since then.

On Monday, Bolden paid an unofficial visit to Auburn’s campus, then on Wednesday, head coach Hugh Freeze paid an in-home visit to Bolden’s house in Buford, Georgia. The Tigers are just as interested as everyone else, but keeping the Peach State recruit away from UGA will be difficult.

Georgia head coach Kirby Smart paid the 5-star a home visit on Thursday. Despite Bolden’s pledge to FSU and Auburn’s relentless recruiting, recruiting analyst Steve Wiltfong believes the safety will wind up at Georgia.
